There are many ways to go over-the-top with a Beach Themed Bedroom
Typically we think of accessories and soft beachy pastel colors, however there are additional creative decorating options. Things for a beach themed bedroom include, Bedding, Area Rugs, Drapes and Lighting.
The three largest areas of the room, the floor the walls and the bed, are ideal areas to use as a large focal canvas. If you’ve never seen some of the bedding choices available in beach decor, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. Best of all, you don’t have to spend a fortune to put art-bedding on your bed. Decorating can be confusing for some; if that’s how you feel about it, then start first and foremost by decorating your room with beach bedding.
No matter the size of the bed, it will always occupy a large part of themed presentation. It doesn’t mean you HAVE to make it the focal point – there are ways to create other aspects in the room as the focal point if that’s what you want. As an example, if you’re decorating a room that has a twin size bed, but would rather have the window dressings as the focus, simply place the bed away from the center of the room, or away from where the eye first goes upon entering. Put the bed in a corner, against a wall. and work your decor out from the drapery area first. However, just because you’ve decided that the bed isn’t the focal point, doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t put Beach Bedding on it.
If the bed isn’t the focal point and you’de really prefer to focus on creating beached themed walls and drapes, you could use floor to ceiling wall to wall beach themed wall murals, and put the bed up against the wall using solid beachy colors; blues, sand colors, or off white. Or you could select a wall mural with a beach scene that blends into beach bedding print that flows.
