You’ll notice that some of the tabletop designs are hollow on the bottom, with a removable top (where the switch usually sits), so you can use it as a candle holder if you like. However, be careful not to let any wax melt onto the glass if you decide to use it in this fashion.

What a pretty idea for setting the mood outdoors on the porch or patio! Very glad to know that it’s solar powered and doesn’t need batteries.
Hey Susan, yah these are great. Most of them come with a solar rechargeable/reusable battery. The battery gets recharged in the sun of course. The type of battery that you’ll typically see included with these is an Ni-MH battery which will typically give you about 8hrs of light when the battery is fully charged. The batteries eventually have to be replaced, but the life of the battery depends upon how often you use it of course – they can last months or years. Also it’s a good idea to ensure the item is frequently getting a solar recharge to keep it going.
