Trendy contemporary pieces are tempting, but often our existing decor doesn’t readily permit us to add creative or unique items.
However, there is a way to combine decorating styles: If your room is a traditional design, you can blend modern chairs by selecting pieces that enhance the existing furnishings but are opposite in tone. For example, include a tear-dropped-hanging-hair in a traditionally designed room with cushion colors that tie into the room’s existing decor. The biggest tip to remember when mixing design styles is only add one or two pieces to most of the opposing designs. Base your choice of one or two items on the size of the room.
