I spent over ten years of my life training as a figure skater, and because of that,  find prints of this sport exceptionally appealing.

As in any art, there are many types of prints, but I find figure skating art exceptional.

If figure skating interests you, but you find yourself at a loss in understanding the basics of Jumping, you’ll enjoy this brief video tutorial by Michael Weiss, three-time National USA Figure Skating champion. At 1:58 seconds, Michael talks about the direction most skaters ‘take-off’ when jumping, and that would be to the left.

He explains that the majority of skaters rotate to the left, and only about 15% rotate to the right. That would be taking off to the right and spinning to the right. I’m in that 15% group (I had no idea it was so rare); during my skating years, I would jump and spin to the right – can’t imagine doing it to the left.

Once a skater, you always soar in your dreams – I landed some of my best jumps there 🙂
